Both its bright red and silver hands are easily visible against the Seiko's black dials and white accents. Red markers on the dial denote the hour positions for timing seconds, and Roman numerals 12, 3, 6, and 9 in the hour subdial are easy to reference at a glance. An unobtrusive window at the four o'clock position on the main dial provides the date. Its stainless steel case, screw-down crown, stationary bezel, and antireflective sapphire crystal are sealed for water-resistance up to 330 feet (100 meters), and its hour and minute hands are luminous for low-light or underwater use. This Seiko winds itself as it's worn thanks to Japanese quartz kinetic movement, and it has a power-save mode for when not in use. During activities, its stainless steel bracelet-style band has a double push-button safety clasp to ensure it stays put.
